What is the reason for the inconsistent output of hot melt glue from the spray machine?

2021-11-10

When using a hot melt glue machine, stable glue output is a basic requirement for the equipment. However, if there are fluctuations in the amount of glue being dispensed, what could be the reason? How should we check and address this? 1. Check whether the set temperatures of the hot melt glue machine, glue hose, and glue gun have reached the operating temperature for hot melt glue. If any one of them is not at the correct temperature, it can lead to unstable glue output. 2. Check whether the heating and temperature control devices of the hot melt glue machine are functioning properly and repair them in a timely manner. 3. It is possible that the hot melt adhesive spraying machine has not been maintained regularly, leading to carbonized impurities in the melting tank that block the entire glue delivery channel. 4. When using a hot melt glue machine, it is important to add glue in a timely manner. If there is too little glue in the melting tank and then a large amount is added at once, it can cause a significant drop in temperature within the melting tank, affecting glue output. The normal level of adhesive should be maintained at around 80%, ensuring timely addition of glue. 5. If there are too many impurities in the hot melt adhesive or excessive dust has fallen into it during storage, it is necessary to choose high-quality hot melt adhesive and store it properly. This not only affects the spraying effect of the hot melt adhesive spraying machine but also impacts product quality.

How to use PUR hot melt adhesive

2021-11-09

1. Storage conditions: PUR hot melt adhesive storage temperature: 8~28℃, stored in a dry place away from light, avoiding excessive humidity. Do not use products with damaged packaging. 2. Before using PUR hot melt adhesive: 1) First check if the vacuum state of the glue packaging is intact; if there is any air leakage, please stop using it; 2) The glue needs to return to room temperature, which takes several hours (depending on the storage temperature); 3) Preheat the glue without tearing off the aluminum foil (label) (generally for 5 to 15 minutes), or you can place the well-packaged glue in an oven for preheating, recommended temperature control at 100 ℃; 4) After taking out the PUR glue from the preheating tube, the glue scabs at the top and tail of the glue tube must be removed before it can be used; 5) All workpieces should be cleaned with IPA and ensure that the surface of the workpiece is dry and shows no obvious signs of oil or dust contamination. 3. Dispensing: 1) The temperature and air pressure during dispensing PUR hot melt adhesive vary depending on the project; consult KY technical personnel for specifics; 2) Stainless steel needles should be used as much as possible, with the inner diameter of the needle tip depending on specific projects; 3) Before installing the needle tip, expel a small amount of glue to ensure that PUR hot melt adhesive can be used normally; 4) The length of the needle tip exposed outside of the heater should not exceed 3mm. Reminder: It is generally recommended not to exceed a continuous heating time of 4 hours; do not reheat the same glue tube more than three times. If heated for too long, it may cause skinning at the back of the glue tube; at this time, you can puncture through the skin to reduce dispensing pressure. If during dispensing, if glue cannot be smoothly expelled, refer to: What to do if PUR hot melt adhesive cannot dispense normally. 4. Assembly: The time that PUR hot melt adhesive dispensed on sample parts is exposed to air must be controlled within 1 minute (from dispensing to assembly). 5. Pressing: After assembling with PUR hot melt adhesive, sample parts must be pressed together for no less than 15 seconds under a pressure of no less than 3 kilograms. 6. Workers must keep heaters on when leaving work so that glue remains heated continuously to avoid repeated heating; workers must check whether needle tips are clogged or melted before leaving work. 7. Once glue leaves its required storage environment, is opened, heated and put into use, it should be used up within 12 hours (calculated from dispensing). If an extension is needed, it should continue being used only if there are no significant changes in viscosity; if there are changes, it must be replaced immediately.

Common maintenance methods for automatic hot melt glue machines

2021-11-09

The daily maintenance of hot melt glue machines has significant differences compared to general dispensing machines, mainly because the daily maintenance of hot melt glue machines does not require repeated cleaning of the glue. Therefore, it is very convenient for daily maintenance. After a period of time, what is the method for maintaining a hot melt glue machine? Additionally, what improvements can be made for the normal use of the machine? Today, I will introduce the methods and means of daily maintenance for automatic hot melt glue machines. Automatic Hot Melt Glue Machine The Pur hot melt glue dispensing machine is a commonly used type of automatic hot melt glue machine. This device is a desktop three-axis dispensing machine, with a hot melt glue dispensing valve and temperature controller as its main components. It can effectively meet the adhesive requirements for craft toys and glass phone cases. The applicable type of hot melt glue is granular, which has good adhesive properties, high dispensing accuracy, and clean breakage, making it a good automatic dispensing machine. Daily Maintenance of Hot Melt Glue Machines 1. Cleaning dust from the machine surface: During factory production, dust may accumulate significantly on the machine, which can affect the overall operation structure. Therefore, it needs to be cleaned in a timely manner as per regulations. 2. Cleaning glue on the work platform: Although hot melt glue is not highly corrosive, any glue that falls onto the work platform can directly affect the balance of placed products. Therefore, it needs to be cleaned in a timely manner according to actual conditions. 3. Machine power: When not using the Pur hot melt glue dispensing machine, all power should be turned off to prevent aging of internal electrical components and ensure optimal working efficiency. The reason for maintaining machines during daily maintenance stages is relatively simple compared to other types of automatic dispensing machines; maintenance is easier. A well-maintained hot melt glue machine can be used for longer periods in production. Therefore, machines that are regularly maintained generally do not experience rust issues with such products. Although the Pur hot melt glue dispensing machine is made from aluminum alloy material, some combination components are still made from iron materials; thus operators need to pay attention to certain usage issues. For adhesive applications on craft toys, an automatic three-axis dispensing machine combined with a manual hot melt glue machine is generally used; while ordinary Pur hot melt glue dispensing machines are used for glass phone case applications. The main difference between these two types of machines lies in their storage capacity for adhesive amounts; there is a significant difference in adhesive quantity requirements between glass phone cases and craft toys—one requires much more while another requires comparatively less. In fact, the daily maintenance steps for both types of hot melt glue machines are quite similar.
