How to use PUR hot melt adhesive

Release time:

2021-11-09 09:52

1. Storage conditions: PUR hot melt adhesive storage temperature: 8~28℃, stored in a dry place away from light, avoiding excessive humidity. Do not use products with damaged packaging. 2. Before using PUR hot melt adhesive: 1) First check if the vacuum state of the glue packaging is intact; if there is any air leakage, please stop using it; 2) The glue needs to return to room temperature, which takes several hours (depending on the storage temperature); 3) Preheat the glue without tearing off the aluminum foil (label) (generally for 5 to 15 minutes), or you can place the well-packaged glue in an oven for preheating, recommended temperature control at 100 ℃; 4) After taking out the PUR glue from the preheating tube, the glue scabs at the top and tail of the glue tube must be removed before it can be used; 5) All workpieces should be cleaned with IPA and ensure that the surface of the workpiece is dry and shows no obvious signs of oil or dust contamination. 3. Dispensing: 1) The temperature and air pressure during dispensing PUR hot melt adhesive vary depending on the project; consult KY technical personnel for specifics; 2) Stainless steel needles should be used as much as possible, with the inner diameter of the needle tip depending on specific projects; 3) Before installing the needle tip, expel a small amount of glue to ensure that PUR hot melt adhesive can be used normally; 4) The length of the needle tip exposed outside of the heater should not exceed 3mm. Reminder: It is generally recommended not to exceed a continuous heating time of 4 hours; do not reheat the same glue tube more than three times. If heated for too long, it may cause skinning at the back of the glue tube; at this time, you can puncture through the skin to reduce dispensing pressure. If during dispensing, if glue cannot be smoothly expelled, refer to: What to do if PUR hot melt adhesive cannot dispense normally. 4. Assembly: The time that PUR hot melt adhesive dispensed on sample parts is exposed to air must be controlled within 1 minute (from dispensing to assembly). 5. Pressing: After assembling with PUR hot melt adhesive, sample parts must be pressed together for no less than 15 seconds under a pressure of no less than 3 kilograms. 6. Workers must keep heaters on when leaving work so that glue remains heated continuously to avoid repeated heating; workers must check whether needle tips are clogged or melted before leaving work. 7. Once glue leaves its required storage environment, is opened, heated and put into use, it should be used up within 12 hours (calculated from dispensing). If an extension is needed, it should continue being used only if there are no significant changes in viscosity; if there are changes, it must be replaced immediately.
