The filter mesh of the hot melt glue gun mainly serves to filter impurities during the use of the glue gun. It reduces nozzle blockage and extends the lifespan of the hot melt glue gun. When the filter mesh assembly is blocked or damaged by foreign objects, or when there are carbides formed by hot melt glue in the insulation tube and pneumatic needle valve assembly inside the gun body, it can cause nozzle blockage. The formation of carbides is mainly due to prolonged heating of hot melt glue beyond the specified temperature. In such cases, it may be necessary to clean or replace the insulation tube or gun head. (P6 Hot Melt Glue Machine. Can be used in conjunction with multiple hot melt glue guns.) So, how do you clean a hot melt glue gun? Heat the hot melt glue gun to the specified operating temperature. Adjust the air pressure value of the hot melt glue gun to zero, and start the nozzle assembly to release any residual pressure and glue inside. Disassemble the hot melt glue gun from the insulation tube, separating it into heating and gluing parts, and take out the filter mesh device to check if it is damaged; replace it if necessary. If there are only some foreign objects causing blockage, soak it in a cleaning solvent and use a soft brush to clean it, then wipe it dry with a cleaning cloth. Use an adjustable wrench to remove the nut from the gluing part of the needle valve assembly. Take out the nozzle from the nut. Use a long thin needle to penetrate in reverse through the small hole on the nozzle where hot melt glue flows out, to clear any blockages such as foreign objects or carbides. Note: Do not use sharp drill bits to clear holes in nozzles as this may damage them and cause uneven flow of hot melt glue from them. Reassemble the nozzle onto the nozzle assembly and put together both heating and gluing parts again. The filter mesh device must be installed before reassembly.

When changing to different models or brands of hot melt glue, the following steps need to be noted: 1. Set the existing hot melt glue in the machine to the operating temperature and heat it until it melts into a liquid state; 2. Once the glue has melted into a liquid state, start the air pump or gear pump to completely drain out any residual old glue in the glue barrel. 3. After everything has been drained, turn off the air pump or gear pump and use a rag to wipe clean any remaining glue inside the barrel. Ensure there is no residual glue left in the barrel; you can also use a high-pressure air gun to blow out any small amounts. 4. Then remove and clean the filter screen. After removing the filter screen, restart and use either the air pump or gear pump to drain and clean out any remaining glue in the pipes before shutting down. 5. Next, put back the cleaned filter screen, reassemble it, and lock it securely. After locking it, proceed to remove the filter screen from the gun as well; this follows the same steps as before. 6. Ensure that both the glue barrel and filter screen are cleaned thoroughly before adding new hot melt glue. Once the new glue has melted, start either the air pump or gear pump again to drain out any residual old glue from the glue pump, hoses, and gun until you confirm that only new glue is being dispensed before turning off. 7. Finally, you can operate with your new brand of hot melt glue. 8. If this is your first time changing hot melt glue or if you are not very familiar with operating it, be sure to consult with your hot melt glue machine manufacturer first and follow their instructions.
